Image loading is now significantly faster across all formats, with major improvements to DNG processing speed and reliability. Memory usage has been optimized, caching improved, and synchronized loading ensures smooth operation even with large batches of images. We've also fixed .frames file import from the macOS menu bar and resolved DNG metadata export issues on older Intel Macs.

Keyboard Navigation & Native Controls

Navigate frames quickly with arrow keys, delete attached photos with Backspace, and press Enter to select photos. The custom sidebar has been replaced with a macOS-native inspector panel for a more polished, system-integrated experience that follows Apple's design language.

Refined Interface & Performance

Visual artifacts have been removed throughout the interface for a cleaner, more professional appearance. The code architecture has been optimized for better app responsiveness and stability, making metadata reintegration workflows faster and more reliable.

Subfolders, Swipe to Move & TXT Export Improvements

Organize your film library with nested subfolders up to 5 levels deep. This update also brings easier film roll management with swipe gestures and improved TXT export formatting for better documentation.

Nested Folder Organization for Pro Users

Pro users can now create subfolders up to 5 levels deep, enabling detailed organization of film archives. Structure your library by year, project, film type, or any hierarchy that fits your workflow. This makes it easier to locate specific shoots within extensive film collections and keeps related rolls grouped together logically.

Improved Film Roll Management

Swipe gestures now include a Move button, making it faster to relocate film rolls and folders. We've also fixed an issue where TXT exports would omit the year when it matched the current year, ensuring complete date information in all exports.

TXT File Export for Film Logs

Pro users can now export film roll logs as TXT files, perfect for printing field notes or creating quick reference sheets for darkroom work.

Export your film roll metadata as plain text files. This format works well for printing compact reference sheets to keep in your camera bag or darkroom. Each TXT export includes all frame details, exposure settings, and notes in a clean, readable format that's easy to print or share with labs.

Full Accessibility Support & Recording Improvements

This update brings comprehensive Apple accessibility support along with improvements to recording workflow and metadata handling, making Frames more accessible and efficient for all film photographers.

Apple Accessibility Features

Frames now supports key Apple accessibility features including Larger Text, Dark Interface, Differentiate Without Color Alone, Sufficient Contrast, and Reduced Motion. These features ensure the app is usable for photographers with different visual needs and preferences, maintaining full functionality regardless of accessibility settings.

Workflow and Metadata Improvements

The app now jumps directly into your new film roll as soon as it's created, streamlining your workflow. Labels throughout the app have been refined for better readability. Custom sequences now automatically fill min/max aperture values, which is particularly useful for metadata reintegration on Mac. We've also fixed motion issues in the recorder when capturing shots with the slider open and corrected value initialization problems in full recorder view.
